ICAEA Membership Guidelines
Chapter I: General Provisions
These guidelines are revised in accordance with the relevant provisions of the International Cultural and Arts Exchange Association (ICAEA). Any art and culture enthusiast who is willing to comply with the ICAEA Constitution and the Code of Conduct for Individual Members, and who meets the membership criteria, may apply to join ICAEA.
Chapter II: Applicant Performance Criteria
- Fine Arts Creation Standards
- Refer to the ICAEA official website for the “Membership Exhibition and Event Application Form”.
- Independent works submitted for relevant exhibitions must include certificates and images.
- First authors of collaborative works may apply for membership.
- Multiple works in the same exhibition count as one submission.
- Two independent or three collaborative ICAEA gold awards qualify for application.
- Winners of major domestic/international exhibitions participating in ICAEA exhibitions may apply.
- Major projects such as murals or sculptures require ICAEA evaluation.
- 15+ years in film art industry with national awards and ICAEA evaluation may apply.
- 15+ years in cultural relics restoration with significant achievements may apply.
- Practitioners of contemporary art (installations, video, etc.) require ICAEA evaluation.
- Designers, animators, etc., require ICAEA Arts Committee evaluation.
- Outstanding performers in ICAEA training programs may apply.
- Theoretical Research Standards
- Must publish at least 3 papers in ICAEA or core journals (min. 3500 words each).
- National award-winning theoretical papers qualify for application.
- Only first authors of co-authored papers may apply.
- Academic/translated books require ICAEA evaluation.
- Textbooks and essay collections are not valid.
- Title and diploma validity based on document issuance date.
- Disputes resolved by ICAEA expert committee.
- News & Publishing Standards
- Must have associate senior title or above and be on-staff.
- 15+ years at key national publishers or media outlets.
- Over 3 years in senior roles at national-level publishers.
- Edited works awarded China Government Publishing Award qualify.
- Three or more articles in national-level media may apply.
- Other national-level artistic achievements (3+) qualify.
- Early achievements not scored; title issuance date prevails.
- Professional Education Standards
- Must have associate senior title and relevant teaching experience.
- 15+ years in key universities or fine arts colleges.
- 20+ years in primary/secondary schools with award-winning students.
- Independently authored 3+ nationally influential textbooks.
- National-level teaching project leaders may apply.
- Published papers (3000+ words) in professional journals qualify.
- ICAEA Arts Committee evaluates child educators.
- Organizational Management Standards
- Must be full-time staff in provincial/national art organizations.
- Committee members must be voluntarily evaluated by Arts Committee.
- 5+ years in national-level institutions.
- 3+ years in senior roles at local associations.
- 5+ years in provincial/army cultural institutions.
- Organized 3+ national/international major art events.
- Received provincial/national honors.
- New arts organization leaders require evaluation.
- Curatorial achievements require evaluation.
- Cross-category & Special Cases
- Generally, points are not transferable across categories. Exceptions require committee approval.
- Other Special Conditions
- Postgraduates/PhDs must participate and win in ICAEA exhibitions.
- “New Literary & Art Workers” may apply.
- Under 18s with three consecutive first prizes may apply upon coming of age.
- Outstanding contributors to arts volunteer work may apply.
Chapter III: Application and Review Procedure
- Preliminary Review by Local Associations
- Reviewed and recommended by local city/provincial fine arts associations.
- Application Procedure and Requirements
- Apply only via ICAEA official website system.
- Fill and upload required materials and handwritten application form.
- Submit complete materials.
- Materials valid only for the current year; originals must be retained.
- Submit a declaration of ethical conduct.
- Preliminary Review and Public Notice
- System assigns preliminary review units.
- Preliminary review verifies authenticity and qualifications.
- Qualified data submitted to final review system and mailed.
- Online public notice: July 1 to 31.
- Public may supervise and file complaints.
- Final Review
- Final review by ICAEA Membership Department: Sept 1 – Nov 30.
- Results announced by Dec 10.
- Qualified applicants notified and listed as new members.
- Annual Fee and Document Requirements
- Annual fee standards will be posted on the official website.
- All submitted information must be true and complete.
- Violation Handling
- False information or documents will disqualify the applicant.
- Impersonation, plagiarism, etc., will be punished and made public.
- evere misconduct leads to lifetime disqualification.
- Notes
- Meeting performance standards does not guarantee automatic membership.
- ICAEA reserves the final interpretation right.
- Effective January 9, 2025.
