International Touring Art Exhibition: “Reviving the Millennium Dunhuang Murals” (Los Angeles Stop)

To promote traditional Chinese culture and foster international cultural exchange and mutual understanding, the International Cultural and Arts Exchange Association (ICAEA), in collaboration with 1 Plus Academy and the Chinese American Association for the Revival of Culture (CAARC), will host the international touring art exhibition “Reviving the Millennium Dunhuang Murals” (Los Angeles Stop) on September 27, 2025. We are now accepting submissions from artists and the public.

The exhibition is chaired by Ms. Xu Hong, President of ICAEA and internationally renowned artist. She stated: “This exhibition aims to use art as a bridge to spread the light of Dunhuang’s thousand-year artistic legacy, strengthen young people’s sense of identity and pride in Chinese culture, and promote the global transmission and inheritance of traditional Chinese art. It embodies our mission: ‘A Harmonious World, Art Without Borders.’”

As a key part of the exhibition, students from 1 Plus Academy will create thematic works inspired by Dunhuang mural art under the guidance of professional mentors. This exhibition will not only be a visual feast but also an engaging art education experience, inspiring youth to explore and express traditional culture through art.

We warmly invite artists, youth, and families to participate in this meaningful event. By co-creating art with children, families can pass down cultural heritage and showcase creativity and cultural literacy within the Chinese community.

To encourage participation from diverse age groups and backgrounds, the exhibition is divided into the following categories, with an independent panel of professional judges:

All selected entries will be exhibited and awarded a Certificate of Participation. Outstanding works will receive a Certificate of Excellence and may be featured in the exhibition catalog and on international art media platforms.

To encourage ongoing participation, artists who win awards in three consecutive ICAEA-organized exhibitions may apply for ICAEA official membership. Members gain access to international exhibitions, art forums, publishing opportunities, expert training, and a wide array of cultural resources.

The exhibition’s grand opening ceremony will be held in Los Angeles, with the following distinguished guests invited:

  • Children Group (ages 4–10)
  • Youth Group (ages 11–17)
  • Adult Group (ages 18 and above)
